This adventurous coastal hike starts near Guana Bay and follows the rugged eastern shoreline toward the Natural Pool, also known locally as Devil’s Cupper. The route crosses dry hills, rocky gullies and exposed coastal terrain, with wide views of Guana Bay, nearby islands and the Atlantic Ocean.
The trail is moderately challenging, with uneven ground, loose stones and very little shade. Strong trade winds and the Caribbean sun can make the exposed sections tougher than expected, so start early, wear sturdy shoes and carry plenty of water.
The Natural Pool is surrounded by sharp volcanic rock and can only be entered when sea conditions are calm. Do not swim when waves are breaking over the rocks. The full official route continues toward Point Blanche and is approximately 2.6 kilometres one way.
