Sentry Hill is a challenging hike to one of the highest points on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten. Starting near Cole Bay Hill, the trail climbs steeply over rocky and sometimes loose terrain toward the summit at approximately 341 metres. Along the way, the vegetation opens to reveal impressive views across the island, Simpson Bay Lagoon and the surrounding Caribbean Sea.
The route is relatively short but physically demanding. Wear sturdy footwear, carry enough water and start early to avoid the strongest heat. Take extra care on loose stones and steep sections, particularly during the descent. Once at the top, the panoramic view makes every step worthwhile.
